Redwood to supply essential Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to NHS Scotland
Published 14th February 2021
We are extremely proud to announce that NHS Scotland have chosen our recently tested and certified COVID-19 PPE Barrier gowns to help with the fight against Coronavirus COVID-19 and to secure long-term stock levels for the healthcare sector.
With 2.8 million square metres of base material needed to make approximately one million non-sterile gowns, we are one of two companies who will convert this into PPE gowns to help keep our frontline NHS staff safe.
Designed by our Product Engineering team, the gowns have been designed from concept, developed, trialled and tested, and are now into production in just four weeks.
The non-sterile PPE gowns are manufactured in line with the Office for Product Safety & Standards (OPSS) published ‘Guidance for new high volume manufactures of Covid-19 PPE’, and have been tested to PPE regulations “EU 2016/425” and “EU 2020/403” – all testing standards and completions have been ratified by Health Protection Scotland.
We are proud to be a UK company and even more proud that we can manufacture these gowns in our UK facility based in Lancashire.
